This article is about the AI Hybrid Builder. To see how it compares with Classic Builder, read How the AI Hybrid Builder differs from Classic Builder.
Conversion goals
Unbounce finds the links, buttons, and forms on your page that can count as conversions and lists them in the Goals tab on the right side of the builder, all turned on. You don't need to set them up. Under Select what counts as a conversion, uncheck any you don't want to count, like a navigation link.
Links that jump to another spot on the same page don't count as conversions.
If you send visitors on to another site to finish converting (like a click-through page that leads to a sign-up form elsewhere), the Goals tab's External Conversion Tracking section explains how to measure the conversion at the final step. See Learn more about conversion tracking in that section.
Email (mailto) links aren't tracked as conversion goals yet.
Page Insights
Page Insights shows how your page is performing, including visitors, conversions, conversion rate, variants, and traffic segments.
Open it with the Page Insights button in the top toolbar. It's available once your page is published.
Variants, A/B testing, and Smart Traffic
You can create variants of your page and test them with A/B testing or Smart Traffic, the same as with other Unbounce pages. See How to run an A/B test, Getting started with Smart Traffic, and How do I create, edit, promote, delete, or duplicate variants?.
In the builder, use the variant menu in the top toolbar to switch between variants. It lists your champion variant and any challenger variants. To make a new variant from the current one, choose Create Duplicate of Variant A (or whichever variant you're on). The copy opens right away, named with the next letter, like "B First Variant - copy." Each variant has its own chat with Unbounce AI.
To change traffic mode, adjust traffic weights, or turn variants on and off, use your page's overview, as you would today. See What is the Page Overview?.
Dynamic text replacement
Dynamic text replacement (DTR) swaps words on your page to match what a visitor searched for or clicked in an ad. You pick the words, give them a URL parameter, and the published page fills them in from that parameter in the visitor's URL. If the parameter isn't there, visitors see your default text.
For example, if you set up DTR on "accounting software" with the parameter keyword, a visitor who arrives at yourpage.com/?keyword=payroll%20software sees "payroll software" instead.
Dynamic text replacement isn't included on every plan. If your plan doesn't include it, the option is disabled and shows an upgrade message.
Add dynamic text
- Double-click a text element on your page and highlight the words you want to replace.
- Click Dynamic text in the text toolbar. You can also click Add/Edit Dynamic Text in Properties.
- In URL Parameter, enter the name of the parameter you'll add to your URL, like
keyword. Use only letters, numbers, underscores, and dashes. - Check the Default Text. It starts as the words you highlighted. Visitors see this text when the URL doesn't include your parameter.
- You can also use Text Styles to set how the replaced text is capitalized. Choose UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, or Sentence case. With None, the text shows exactly as it appears in the URL.
- Click Save Dynamic Text.
The words you set up are marked on your page. The builder and Preview always show your default text.
You can add dynamic text to more than one set of words in the same text element. If you set it up on words that overlap an existing one, the new setup replaces the old one.
Edit or remove dynamic text
- Edit: click the marked words to select the text element, then click Add/Edit Dynamic Text in Properties. Make your changes and click Save Dynamic Text, or click Cancel to keep things as they were.
- Remove: click the X on the marked words, or open the dynamic text window and click Remove Dynamic Text. The default text stays on your page as regular text.
Test it
Publish your page, then open it with your parameter added to the end of the URL, like ?keyword=test. The marked words should change to "test." Open it again without the parameter to check your default text.
To pass search keywords from Google Ads into your page, see the Google Ads steps in Working with Dynamic Text Replacement in Classic Builder. The ad setup is the same for both builders.
Reporting
Reports and the real-time dashboard work the same as for other Unbounce pages. See Using the Reporting tab and Using Page Overview to review your page performance.
