Creating an AMP Page
Creating an AMP page in Unbounce is very similar to creating a normal landing page. The biggest difference is that there is reduced functionality when creating an AMP page due to the limitations of the format.
Since the AMP format was created to simplify and increase the speed of pages for mobile browsing, the Unbounce AMP page builder has less available features than its regular counterpart.
Remember that AMP as a format was created as a companion to a normal landing page, and not a page on its own - so you’ll still have to create a normal landing page version of your AMP page then link your AMP page to the normal landing page.
In order to create a valid AMP page using the Unbounce Builder, you must have your own domain connected and enabled. Unbouncepages.com is not supported for this feature. Follow our instructions on how to connect your own domain.
- Click the AMP link on the left side of the page.
- To create an AMP page, click the Create New button at the top left-hand corner of the screen. A new page will appear.
- Under the Step 1: Pick a Content Type - select the AMP option. This will load new options under Step 2: Choose a Template.
- Under Step 2: Choose a Template, click on the template you’d wish to use as the base for your AMP Page.
- In the bottom right corner of the page, enter the name you’d like to use for your AMP page into the blank Choose a Name field.
- Click the Start with this template button at the bottom right corner of the page.
Working on your AMP Page
The AMP Page builder works in the same function as the normal builder, with the exception of having less options for functionality.
Drag and drop widgets from the Widget panel on the left side of the page onto the builder to add new elements to your landing page, and arrange the elements on the page to your liking.
When you’ve completed creating your AMP page, click the Save button in the top right-hand corner of the builder. Navigate back to the Page Overview screen and click the Publish button to publish your page.
Preview is currently not supported in the AMP builder. If you’d like to preview your page, please publish your page to unbouncepages.com to view the finished product before publishing to your personal domain.
Republishing is not currently available from the builder screen. Once you’ve saved your page, please navigate back to the Page Overview screen and click the Republish button in order to publish any changes made to your AMP page.
Using a Form on an AMP Page
Adding a form to an AMP Page follows the same steps as a regular landing page. Please see the note below regarding the major difference between forms on an AMP page and a regular landing page.
Only vertical form fields may be used on an AMP page. Horizontal form fields are not available on an AMP page at this time. UTM Parameters for form fields are not available for AMP pages.
Accessing Previously Created AMP Pages
Previously created AMP pages can be found by clicking the AMP link on the left-hand side of the Unbounce overview page.
Click on the page you’d like to edit in order to access that specific page’s overview.
