Page Overview

The publishing functions of your page are the high-level traits such as name and URL that determine how visitors navigate to your page, and how you view information about your page internally. It's important to have a good idea of how to navigate publishing functions so that you can keep pages organized inside of your account, unpublish in a pinch, and find the URL so you can send people on over to your page (the main point!).

This article will help you out with:

  • Managing your page title for internal viewing
  • Editing the domain and subdirectory of your page so that it's published to your custom domain
  • Publishing and unpublishing pages
  • Deleting pages

Editing Your Page Info Using Page Overview

The Page Overview gives you access to all the publishing functions for your landing page.

Click the Edit button to head back into the Page Builder and make additional page edits.

Hover over your page’s current title and click Edit Name to change the internal name of the landing page.

Click the Change URL button next to the current URL to select a domain and subdirectory name for your page .

the subdirectory name must be lower case and can contain only letters, numbers, dashes, or underscores.

You can always choose unbouncepages.com if you want to test your page before publishing it to your custom domain.

Click the green Publish button in the upper right of the page to publish your page..

If you make any changes once your page is published, you'll see this reappear as a Republish button.

if you're not seeing changes you've made in the Page Builder on your landing page always make sure you've hit Republish.  If you're still not seeing them, clear your browser's cache so you get the latest published version of your page.

Click the gear menu Gear.png in the upper right to Unpublish or Delete your page.

Republish From Within the Page Builder

If you are editing a page that has already been published, saving your changes will activate the re-publish button, so that you don't have to leave the builder to re-publish your page.

Keep in mind that re-publishing from inside the page builder will also republish your page variants.

If you are editing a page that has never been published, you'll need to do so from the Page Overview so that you can set the URL, integrations and page traffic weight (if you are running an A/B test).

Adding a Custom Favicon to Your Landing Page

If you have an existing website that already has a favicon file (the logo that shows up in the browser's address bar, and next to the site's title when a user bookmarks it) then you might want to use it on your landing pages as well. Doing so is fairly straight forward:

  1. Find the location of your favicon.ico file. Usually it sits in the root directory of your website, so http://website.com/favicon.ico. In our case it can be found at http://app.unbounce.com/favicon.ico. If you don't have one, you'll need to upload one to some of your own hosting (Unbounce does not currently support this).
  2. Open your Unbounce page in the editor and click on the "Javascripts" button in the lower left hand side of the editor.
  3. Add a new script and call it "favicon". Choose "Head" in the Placement dropdown menu and then paste in the following:

    <link rel="icon" type="image/x-icon" href="http://yourwebsite.com/favicon.ico" />

of course replacing the "http://yourwebsite.com/favicon.ico" part with the URL of your own icon.
  4. That's it! Re-publish your page and your icon should be in the browser address bar.
